History
1900. Natanael Petterson starts his cabinet-making company, N. Pettersons Mek. Snickerifabrik.
1939. His sons, Ernst and Tage, take over the company at the outbreak of the Second World War. Production consists largely of office furniture and personnel lockers for the government.
1945. The first shop fittings are delivered, and will soon dominate Hestra’s production.
1972. The last hotel fittings are delivered to the Birger Jarl Hotel in Stockholm, and the company now focuses exclusively on shop fittings.
1984. Sales company established in Norway.
1987. Sales company established in Finland.
2000. The company celebrates its centenary.
2004. Affiliate started in Denmark.
2008: The latest extension of the production facility is completed, making a total of 20,000 m2 in Hestra.
2009: Hestra is now one of the largest shop fitting companies in the Nordic region, and is run by the third and fourth generations of the same family.
